Deb Day makes a wide variety of beautiful handmade garments, everything from Wedding dresses to Art dresses to textile and felt art. The Sewing Room is fully equipped with the latest digital sewing machines, cutting table and notions. In the sewing room you can have the dress of your dreams made especially for you or if you already have a dress that needs a bit of tweaking, you can bring it along to be altered to fit you perfectly. The sewing room is fully equipped with a lovely fitting room and a comfortable space for your wedding party to relax and enjoy the experience with you.

Sundragon Pottery is a not for profit Community Association, run as a members club. It began life in late 2013, when Becky Belcher, Fiona Scanlan and other refugees from the seven potteries that closed down in Birmingham (due to funding cuts), set up the studio to have somewhere to “play with clay”. It has flourished because of the hard work, determination and benevolence of our members.
Sundragon Pottery offers a variety of membership options and courses for experienced and aspiring potters of all ages and abilities, as well as one-on-one tutoring and pottery parties.
The Bike Project

The Bike Project takes secondhand bikes, fix them up and donate them to refugees and asylum seekers in London and Birmingham.
CRAFT DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY FOR KIDS

The CDT room has a range of tools for turning, milling, precision cutting, drilling, engraving and pyrography. Projects are designed and led by children, who make musical instruments, vehicles, furniture or whatever they can imagine out of wood, plastic and metal. Children are also encouraged to adapt and repair their tools. These sessions are run by Richard Newton who has 30 years of experience teaching craft, design & technology to children.
Suitable for children aged: 2 - 10 years old.
Price: £8 per child or two children £6 each child.

Mel Berman is a metal and mixed media artist. She creates artworks using embossed pewter and copper sheet and combines them with free machine embroidery and different coloured waxes and inks. They are used to embellish everything from notebooks, mirror frames, boxes and canvasses to create unique one-off artworks.
She teaches through live Zoom in a variety of mixed media techniques and leads workshops in embossed pewter from her studio at The Old Print Works.

Balsall Heath Local History Society

The Society was founded in 1980. We aim to foster links across different cultural, religious and age groups by promoting and exploring local, community and family history. In the last few years they have: worked with schools; mounted a range of exhibitions; produced publications relating to local heritage; interviewed and recorded many people’s life stories; indexed our extensive photographic collection; organised trails; and undertaken specific projects.
At our base at The Old Print Works we have a good collection of photos of the area over the years, a range of maps and other resources.

Huda is a Sound Therapist trained with the British Academy of Sound Therapy and Reiki Master. At her studio at The Old Print Works she hosts events and workshops, including Gong Baths, Yoga & Sound workshops, Chakradance and Meditation, and sees 1-2-1 clients. Huda also holds day workshops and retreat days where you can learn how to use singing bowls, how to use essential oils and much more.

Ash Tree Floral Designs is the venture of qualified florist Ashley Edwards. Her background in Art and Design means she is always searching for something visually unique and different. Nessa Grimes is a ceramicist, looking to create beautiful items of decorative and functional ware. They work in a variety of different colour stoneware clays, and sell both pre-made and made-to-order items. Pottery parties are soon to be offered along with school workshops and small group classes. The Birmingham Upholstery Collective is a group of individuals with a shared enthusiasm for rescuing tired and unloved vintage and antique furniture. They specialise in traditional upholstery, with a modern twist, making pieces suitable for the modern home. Although, they describe ourselves as amateurs, between them they have over 60 years of upholstery experience. The studio is often open as part of Balsall Heath Second Saturday.
